Alaska's
Circuit Rider Braves Aftermath of Fire
Rural Water is always
ready to provide clean, safe and affordable drinking water. Thus, when
disaster strikes, rural water is ready to lend a hand as a first
responder.
This commitment to
quality water proved itself once again when Brandon LeBaron the Circuit
Rider for Alaska Rural Water Association went to the village of Hooper
Bay to help restore water services. The village of Hooper Bay literally went up
in smoke when a massive fire burned over 14 acres destroying a grocery
store, 14 homes, teacher housing and a village school.
With charred debris everywhere, LeBaron’s
goal was to help village leaders restore safe drinking water.
Twenty families were
made homeless by the fire. The local school was utterly destroyed in
this remote location on the West Coast of Alaska
