Sleeper Receives National Rural Water Association’s Accounting Peer Leadership Award!
The NRWA Peer Leadership Awards program was established to recognize the outstanding efforts of Rural Water Association representatives. Sleeper was selected as this year’s winner for her dedication and service to rural water. Sleeper has been with New Mexico Rural Water Association since August 1996. NMRWA has have received clean audits, “no findings,” for eight of Sleeper’s nine years, because she is dedicated to keeping complete and accurate records for the Association. Sleeper willingly supports all the other staff members, doing whatever is asked of her. She works closely with the other office personnel to make sure that the office runs smoothly and in a professional manner. She not only takes advantage of training offered by the Association, she searches out any educational opportunities that will further her knowledge in order to serve the members, board and staff of NMRWA. Sleeper is always willing to go the extra mile so Members and Non Members know the importance of New Mexico Rural Water. The Accounting Peer Leadership Award recognizes the importance of those whose job it is to comply with extensive procedures and complex regulations associated with the water industry. The National Rural Water Association is a federation of 48 State Rural Water Associations serving over 24,558 water and wastewater utility members in 49 states with additional programs in Honduras and Puerto Rico. NRWA members form a solid foundation for Team Rural Water. Upholding the motto of “Quality On Tap!” Rural Water Associations provide small communities in every state with management and technical resources to supply safe and affordable water.
