On March 2, Payton and David Clemmons drove to Columbia to receive the Missouri Rural Water Association’s Wastewater Treatment Center of the Year award. Alan Decker, the Missouri Rural Water Association technician who conducted the interviews to determine the winner, told Payton and Clemmons other centers watched and duplicated Buffalo’s procedures.
