Rural Water and EPA hold historic summit

Rural and small systems were the topic of conversation during a five hour high level rural water and EPA summit held in Washington DC on Wednesday.  The meeting was attended by EPA Administrator Stephen Johnson, EPA Chief Financial Officer Lyons Gray, Assistant Administrator for the Office of Water Ben Grumbles, Regional EPA Officials and other staff.   This was an excellent opportunity to showcase the work performed by rural water associations and strengthen relationships between rural water and EPA.  NRWA President Rodney Tart opened the historic summit by thanking all who attended and outlining the partnership that rural water has had with the agency since 1978. President Tart stressed the impact of rural water associations on maintaining and achieving compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act and our common goal of safe affordable water.
