Mt. View – Edgewood has best tasting water
WASHINGTON, D. C. – The Mt. View – Edgewood Water Company from Edgewood,
Wash. won the golden medal award for best tasting water in the nation during the
Great American Water Taste Test, held on Feb. 8 at the Rural Water Rally in
Washington, D.C.
Hebert Water Systems from Columbia, La. won the silver medal and the City of
Puxico from Puxico, Mo. won
bronze. Other finalists include the Three Springs
Water Treatment Plant from McCaleysville, Va. and Putnam Public Service District
from Scott Depot, W.Va. The five finalists were selected by a preliminary panel
of judges from entries across the United States. Each state holds a water taste
test at their state conferences, and those winners are eligible for entry into
the Great American Water Taste Test. Each sample was judged on clarity, bouquet
and taste. Five finalists are selected and judged by a special judging panel to
decide the final awards.
The NRWA holds the Great American Taste Test annually as part of the Rural
Water Rally in Washington, D.C.
