Rally, Taste Test to stream live over web

DUNCAN, Okla. – The National Rural Water Association will stream live video, including the 2012 Great American Water Taste Test, from Washington D.C. during the Rural Water Rally held Feb. 6-8. The GAWTT feed will begin at noon Eastern on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at nrwa.org.

“The live webcam at H2O-XPO was very popular,” explained Chris Wilson, an NRWA web developer. “It generated nearly a thousand extra page views a day during the conference.”

That success led NRWA to expand the role of live streaming video in its events. New technology will allow more streaming connections, audio stream and a live chat to the Rally feed. When there is no live connection, the new streaming service will play selection from an NRWA video library, preventing blank screens and dropped connections.

“It’s a great opportunity for us to connect with our members and showcase the hard work and achievement of our taste test winners,” said Sam Wade, NRWA Deputy CEO.

The live video feed is currently active in the lobby of the NRWA main office. More information about the Rural Water Rally is available at www.nrwa.org/rally .
